Configuring cross-domain tracking with Google Analytics (or any analytics tool) and Google Tag Manager can unlock valuable insights into your booking process. With guest tracking, you can easily monitor your customers' behavior and events across your website and the embedded booking widgets.

You can now track what acquisition sources contribute the most bookings, review funnel drop-offs, and get deeper insights to boost conversions.

What is cross-domain tracking?

Cross-domain tracking with Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager enables you to track user journeys across multiple domains, maintaining session continuity and providing more accurate insights into user behavior.

Cross-domain tracking ensures that when users move from your website to the booking widget, their session data (like the same user ID, session information, etc.) persists.

Cross-domain tracking is also sometimes referred to as cross-domain conversion measurement.

You can best use Google Analytics to identify trends in the user journey and booking flow and evaluate the success of marketing and ad campaigns.

Ad-blockers and other enabled browser privacy settings can prevent user tracking. Google Analytics should not be used as a reliable source for reporting sales figures, as the data in Google Analytics may not match what you see reported on your booking platform.
