You can create product closures from three places within the app: the product builder, the product closures index, or the inventory calendar. |
Creating product closures from the product builder
Back to topFollow these steps to set up product closures from the product builder.
- Go to the Product Builder (Products > Products) to add (or edit) a product.
- Provide information about your product under the Details tab.
- Set up your guest and inventory types under the Inventory tab.
- Go to the Availability tab.
- Determine when the product can be booked (all day, nightly, timeslots, or flextime).
- At this point, you need to click the Save button to save your changes. Doing this turns on the Create New button at the bottom of the page and allows you to proceed to the next step.
- If you still need to, you must set up a base availability event for your product. From the Availability Events section, select Availability from the Create New button drop-down menu.
- From the Create an Availability Event modal, set up a base availability event to determine your general hours and days of availability. Click Save to save your settings.
If your availability varies, for example, per season, you can configure one or more of these events.
- After you have set up your base availability event, we want to start adding the closure event. From the Availablity Events section, select Closure from the Create New button drop-down menu.
- Enter the event's name and the dates, days of the week, or timeslots (or flextime) you must close off.
For example, you can limit the number of available timeslots during the off-season.
Alternatively, you can block off all timeslots during staff training (Monday to Friday).
Blocking of dates with timeslots
To block off the full date in the booking calendar, you need to select all timeslots where timeslots (or flextime) are applicable.
- Click Save to save your settings and finish creating the closure.
- Confirm you can see your new closure listed under Availability Events under the Availability tab.
Managing product closures
Once saved, product closures are also listed in the product closures index (Products > Product Closures) and within the inventory calendar (Calendars > Inventory Calendar).
If you want to apply the closure to more than one product or category, you can do so from the product closures index.
- Finally, you can preview the closure by clicking the Preview button and navigating to the dates with closures.
The following is an example of a day during the winter off-season when timeslots are limited to the afternoon. Morning timeslots are not available.
The following is a preview of a week blocked off for staff training.
