How to create product closures from the product closures index

Product closures allow you to limit product availability, such as when reducing hours during the off-season or closing specific timeslots due to staff shortages or training.

You can create product closures from three locations within the app: the product closures index, the product builder, or the inventory calendar.

You can follow these steps to set up product closures from the product closures index.

  1. Go to the Product Closures index (Products > Product Closures).
  2. Click the Create Closure button to open the Create Product Closure modal.

  3. Enter the Name of your product closure, such as Fall/Winter Closure or Staff Training Closure. Once saved, you can change this name.
  4. Select the applicable Date Range for the product closure, for example:
    • Fall/Winter Closure: 12/01/24 --> 01/31/25 
    • Staff Training: 08/15/24 --> 08/21/24

  5. Specify the closure Schedule. You can close availability for your product Everyday, Weekdays, or Weekends or according to your Custom dates selection. 

    If you have any product configured with timeslots (or flextime), including timeslots for draft products, use the Timeslots drop-down menu to select which timeslots you need to close.

    Blocking off dates with timeslots

    To block off the full date in the booking calendar, you need to select all timeslots where timeslots are applicable.


    For example, you can limit the number of available timeslots daily during the off-season.

    Also, you could block off all timeslots during weekday staff training (Monday to Friday).

  6. Set which Products the closures apply to by selecting products (or categories) from the Apply To setting. You can:
    • Select one or more products or categories by checking the box next to the category or product listing.
    • Click the Select All button to apply the product closure to all your products.
    • Click the Select None button to clear all selections and start again.

  7. Click the Save button to save your changes. 
  8. Confirm that the new closure is listed within the Product Closures index.

    Once saved, product closures can also be found listed within the product builder under the availability tab (Products > Products) or within the inventory calendar (Calendars > Inventory Calendar) for the applicable products.

     

  9. Finally, you can preview the closure within your booking calendar.

    The following is an example of a day during the winter off-season when timeslots are limited to the afternoon. Morning timeslots are not available.
